me again- im also looking to have custom bumper stickers made for my automotive club. we are called "TJ-Tek" and I would like the sticker to say that plus 2009-2010 for the school year. Im looking for any slick car pictures as the background, we are all car enthusiasts so whatever looks good and will look good on car bumpers and rear hatches etc.

Thanks!

We can come up with something. I always ask this for this type of situation just to be sure, but I take it this is a non-profit group right? We just like to make sure someone isnt taking our free work and making money off of it :).

definitely- its a club i started at my high school. we pick up busted cars and try our best to fix them as cheap as possible. We're using my camaro as the project car for this year- i pay for all the parts, the club does all the labor, i keep the car :)

last year we did a 72 Jensen Healey that my teacher found...

yeah so no money making going on lol :P

Sounds like a pretty cool deal. I'm free at the end of this week, but if I have any time tomorrow evening I'll see what I can do.

Sure thing man. I do a lot of simple stuff that can be used for printing so Ill come up with something suitable for a bumper sticker.

here was a quick one. I took a pic of your car and put a comic book filter on it, kind of giving the background both an abstract design feel but you know its a car too.

kthxbai
08-09-2009, 06:26 PM
is there any way you could do that but with one of the pics with the front of the car in it?

i just love the louvers and think it might look a bit better / more identifiable

that looks really good though, i like the filter alot

thanks again

That comic book filter looks sweet. Gonna have to play around with that one some...
As for the OP- Good luck man! (Good job on the paint work btw!)

thanks man. yeah we'll see how everything turns out. i just have this image of picking up my girlfriend and then flipping the cutouts open with her dad standing in the driveway lol that is the goal of the project. got enough interested people and ive been working my tail off all summer so looks like ill have a lean but manageable budget for the car. cant wait to rip into it.

I'm the owner of the site so I can't let the requests go stale if nobody else replies. Sucks but I gotta do what I gotta do. Do you happen to have any other/more pics you'd be interested in having me use with this? BTW, when you get the final product printed up, if you print enough, think you could send me one?

kthxbai
08-10-2009, 07:03 PM
umm, maybe you could try having the front of the car on a passenger side shot coming up to the right of the text with the same filter?

just a thought. im in love with the louvers on the thirdgens.

and i can definitely send you one

Ok man sorry for the wait here is V2. I like how you can see more of the detail of the car in this one, like the wheel with the hood.

BTW, once we come to a conclusion on one of these decals, be sure to tell me so I can hook you up with the fullsize one! It's actually 3x the size of the ones im posting so whenever you get them printed, they come out nice

i like that- it sucks the car is stored up against the wall, and its not exactly mobile right now...
i would love to get the whole front end like with an upward angle from the front pass. side. hrumph. fail parking.

i think this is looking great though- i will see if i can get you more photos for one more option before i go to print, i have plenty of time to work with

thanks again storm- they look incredible

WOOT i just bought an LT1 and a T56 for this sucker.

on the sticker side of business- my brother pointed out that people might be more attracted to the sticker if its not just a rectangle- those tend to stick out and look kindof awkward depending on the car/color it is on. do you have any ideas on a different shape (possibly smaller)? i was thinking maybe the text could be on top of a picture of the car (not sure what part but something thats interestingly shaped) and just have it be a not rectangular slightly smaller sticker that only says TJ-TEK on top of the picture...
sorry that was like a rant but whew im still excited about my new engine and transmission..............................

thanks again storm, ill be around :)

So your selling these stickers? We need clear conformation on this before we can continue with the design....

When did the OP say he was selling the stickers?

Dirtyd88
08-31-2009, 10:48 PM
The OP is wanting these stickers made for his auto shop class. I dont think he intends on selling them, just passing them out to fellow shop members.

But until we get conformation on this, please no one fulfill his request.

hey guys, sorry i havent been around ive been at the beach for a while now. superman just let me know whats up, and to be clear:

these are going to be purchased either by me personally and given to my club's members, or purchased with club funds and given to the club's members. They will not be sold for a profit nor will the design.

Thanks,
Steven

I've made myself a note and I will work on the design tomorrow. I've been away from SFX so I never noticed your last update, so don't take offense that I hadn't replied yet!

Ok man I apologize for the holdup. Ive been swamped with real life work and school so my complete apologies for this. Maybe it is my fried brain or maybe you werent clear, but could you restate what you wanted in the new design? I read over your posts, and didn't quite get what you were looking for in the update. Sorry!!!

im looking for something maybe a circle or oval thats not just a big rectangle- i think it will sell better if it is a little smaller and easier to look at. I was also hoping to have less text for the smaller size with maybe only TJ TEK without the year or anything, and an image or just cool letters, thats up to you. thanks for remembering!
hope school is going well for you storm, i know its a pain right now for me.

Hey kthxbai, listen I know it seems like we arn't paying attention but honestly these guys are swamped. We have lost alot of our designers and I am having a hard time keeping up with some of the requests. None the less Im not giving up, neither is storm, Dirty, and watson are all trying our best!

Storm's work is one of a kind, hes got more tallent and knowledge about design than all of us. Just give him alittle time and the work he produces will be well worth the wait! Thanks again and I personally want to thank you for coming back to us and keeping traffic here on Screenfx we appricate all of our members!

no problem and thanks for keeping the site up- its fun just to look around even if i cant design anything :(

i know how it goes, and im not being impatient, or at least i hope it doesnt come across that way- i just figured that every now and then a bump cant hurt. please dont feel like im pestering you guys. thanks for making sfx in the first place, and caring enough to bring this thread back to life every now and again- your work is professional and i know most of the time you would pay big bucks for it.

Ok man I'm really sorry for neglecting this. I finally did an oval one.

http://www.screen-fx.net/upload/tjteksticker2flat40percent.jpg

If i clean up those two weird dots on the top of the TJ TEK, and add some more paint spray towards the bottom, i think it would look nice. What do you think?

Superman

wow, that looks incredible storm!
i agree with what you posted, if you could clear out those two dot things and i think that instead of car club 2010 might look good there?

thats exactly what i was looking for though, if you dont have time i would be happy just using the one you posted

alright the time has come Storm, im gonna print these through makestickers.com

you said to ask for the high res, full size file so heres what the site says:
http://www.makestickers.com/Stickers_UploadingDesign.aspx
"Stickers are printed at 300 dpi resolution. Sending a file at a higher resolution than 300 dpi will not result in better output."
and also
"Be sure to set the page size of your file to match the exact size of the sticker."
i am looking for the 4"x6" oval

if youll get me a file that will work there, ill be sure to get one mailed out to ya!

thanks,
Steven
